Olly Murs, Rebecca Ferguson sign on for Strictly launch

Olly Murs and Rebecca Ferguson will be swapping the X Factor stage for the Strictly ballroom when the BBC One show launches next month.

The two vocalists, who made their fame on the ITV talent competition, will perform their new singles during the launch of the dancing show on September 3.

In yet another blow for Simon Cowell, the pair will also be joined by ex-Xtra Factor presenter Melvin Odoom, who has signed up to compete on the show.

Odoom joins previously announced contestants Anastacia, Louise Redknapp, Will Young, Laura Whitmore, Naga Munchetty, Ed Balls, Danny Mac, , Daisy Lowe sports broadcaster Ore Oduba.

The final five celebrity contestants will be revealed next week.
